Following a tip from a concerned citizen, authorities seized roughly ₱802 million worth of suspected shabu from a shoreline in Barangay Sisiman on August 14.
Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. of Police Regional Office 3 stated that the operation resulted in the recovery of six sacks containing 118 kilograms of the illegal drug.
The tip led officers from the Mariveles Municipal Police Station and other units to the area, where they found the suspicious packages. The police director praised the citizen who reported the find, calling the huge drug seizure a “testament to what can be achieved when the community and law enforcement work hand-in-hand.”
The seized drugs are being held as evidence while police investigate where they came from and where they were headed. No arrests have been made.
